Great question. It can be hard to find journals that will publish innovative skill trainer development, unless you have some outcome data to report as well. There are a few 'Technical Reports' there with details on how to make innovate (low cost) pediatric simulators.

My colleagues and I have data on a new task trainer that we developed for training students on I&D of abscesses and foreign body removal using ultrasound.
