Transforming Simulation in the Age of Competency Based Education

    24 April 2025 | 18:00 UTC l 13:00 ET | 10:00 PT

    IPSS Member: Free | Non-Member: $50

Join Dr. Laura Simone for a  webinar on the evolution of simulation in the context of competency-based medical education (CBME). As the medical education landscape continues to evolve, CBME has shifted the focus to an outcomes-driven approach, emphasizing the development of specific competencies. Dr. Simone will explore how this paradigm shift has transformed the way simulation is used to teach, assess, and maintain competency in healthcare professionals. This session will address key topics including: How simulation can be leveraged for outcomes-based educational paradigms, the role of diverse simulation techniques and debriefing methods in designing curricula tailored to learners with distinct needs, and strategies for using simulation to assess learners and ensure ongoing competency in the ever-evolving medical field. By the end of the session, participants will be inspired to consider innovative approaches to simulation that enhance learning and help maintain high standards of clinical practice.
