IPSS Academy Advisory Committee Chair Brittany Dahlen, MSN, RN, CHSE, NPD-BC, CPN
Brittany has a clinical background as a pediatric critical care nurse and is the Co-Founder and President of Shifting Frames Consulting, LLC. Brittany supports healthcare organizations and healthcare professionals in building bias interruption skills and achieving measurable health equity outcomes. Brittany is passionate about interrupting bias in the many facets of healthcare, from orientation of new hires, precepting, and charge nurse roles, to patient care, front desk interactions, and patient family experience.
She has expertise in quality improvement work and has presented on the use of simulation-based assessment and the use of simulation for health equity at various national and international conferences. Brittany’s research focus is investigating the translational outcomes of simulation for bias interruption and health equity outcomes. Brittany has published articles in Clinical Simulation in Nursing and Simulation in Healthcare.

Jabeen Fayyaz MD, FCPS, MCPS, DCH, CHSE, MHPE, Ph.D. (Sim), MGH IHP
Dr. Fayyaz serves as the SimKIDS Medical Director and holds the position of Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. Additionally, she contributes as a PEM Staff Physician at The Hospital for Sick Children and functions as a Sim Educator and Resuscitation Lead within the Division of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Fayyaz's journey at SickKids began in 2016 as a PEM Fellow, advancing to her current roles as a Staff Physician and Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. Her professional trajectory commenced in Pakistan, where she graduated and subsequently served as a Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) faculty member at Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) for five years. Notably, Dr. Fayyaz was among the pioneering leaders in Pakistan whose expertise in Emergency Medicine was recognized by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan in 2011. In 2018, she earned a master’s degree in health professional education from Aga Khan University Hospital and a Ph.D. in simulation from the MGH IHP, an affiliate of Harvard, USA.

Adeel Khatri, MBBS, FCPS
Dr Adeel Khatri is the Program Director for Emergency Medicine Residency Program at the Indus Hospital and Health Network, Karachi, Pakistan. He is also completing his IPSS-INSPIRE fellowship in pediatric simulation.
Dr Khatri is an active teacher and facilitator in many simulation-based programs including the Certification Program in Emergency Medicine, Foundation Program I Pediatric Emergency Medicine, and Collaborative Advance Trauma Course, and is leading the Simulation Instructors programs from Indus Hospital. He is also a faculty in the University of Lahore Simulations Faculty Development Program.
He’s a recipient of the Chad Epps Bursary for Master Debriefers course (the Debriefers Academy Canada). His main area of interest is low-cost solutions for integration of interprofessional system-level simulations into curricula and hospital operations for development of a sustainable simulation culture in LMICs.

Dr. Nordia Thompson-Newell, MBBS, DM (EM)
Dr. Thompson-Newell is currently completing a fellowship in Simulation at the Hospital for Sick Children and University of Toronto. She previously completed Emergency Medicine residency in Jamaica and a fellowship in Paediatric Emergency Medicine at The Hospital for Sick Children and the University of Toronto, Canada.
She has over 10 years experience practising medicine. Prior to her fellowship, Dr. Thompson-Newell served at different levels as a medical doctor at various medical facilities in Jamaica. Determined to leave an indelible mark in the field of medicine, Dr Thompson-Newell has held several professional teaching appointments. Since 2016, Dr.
Thompson-Newell has been a Teaching Assistant engaging groups of medical students in cycles, while assisting in principles of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, Airway Management, Emergency Ultrasound, Electrocardiography as well as Medical and Surgical emergencies. Between 2018 and 2019, she was an Emergency Severity Index (ESI) Trainer, conducted Cyclical Training of Residents in Basic Emergency Ultrasound use, and was also a Course Instructor for the ECG Dysrhythmia Recognition course at the Heart Foundation of Jamaica.

Muhammed Elhady Muhammed Elgasim, MBBS, EMDM, MHPE, MAcadMEd
Medical Education Specialist and Emergency Medicine Specialty Doctor
I possess extensive experience and accomplishments in the realm of clinical skills instruction. My expertise encompasses the following domains:
1. Teaching adult, pediatric resuscitation and trauma courses in collaboration with the European and UK Resuscitation Councils for the following course:
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) Course.
- European Pediatric Advanced Life Support (EPALS).
- European Trauma (ETC) Course.
- Generic Instructor Course (GIC)
2. Educating clinical instructors and teachers on effective teaching methodologies for courses related to clinical skills.
3. Experience utilizing simulation education as a methodology, including scenario-based teaching, standardized patients, and virtual simulation.
4. Instructing and evaluating undergraduate medical students in various essential skills, including:

Hadas Katz-Dana, MD
Dr. Hadas Katz-Dana is a highly skilled pediatric emergency medicine physician, currently serving as the Medical Director of the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Academy at Meir Medical Center in Israel. She earned her medical degree from Tel Aviv University's Sackler Faculty of Medicine and completed fellowships in simulation and hybrid point-of-care ultrasound (PoCUS) at SickKids Hospital in Toronto. Dr. Katz-Dana is recognized for her leadership in medical education, particularly in developing simulation-based training programs for pediatric emergencies and mass casualty preparedness.
With a strong focus on clinical innovation, Dr. Katz-Dana has made significant contributions to pediatric emergency care through her research on PoCUS and emergency department protocols. She is an active educator and researcher, presenting her work at international conferences and publishing in peer-reviewed journals. Her dedication to advancing pediatric healthcare and medical training has positioned her as a respected leader in her field.

Anisha Kshtrapal, MD, MSEd
Anisha Kshetrapal is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics
(Emergency Medicine) in the Department of Pediatrics of the Lurie
Children’s Hospital of Chicago, Northwestern University Feinberg School of
Medicine. She is a pediatric emergency physician and medical education
researcher with research expertise in the use of qualitative methodologies to
study entrustment and other phenomena. Dr. Kshetrapal is Associate Director of
the kidSTAR Simulation and Resuscitation Training Center at Lurie Children's
and co-directs the Teaching Selective at the Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr.
Kshetrapal has explored how trainees experience trust and autonomy on the road
to unsupervised practice
